Optional InsuranceIf your patients have a dental plan with CODEplan, including the new plans in a box described above, you can now offer them CODE Worldwide Dental Accident and Emergency Insurance. Most dental plan providers make this sort of insurance obligatory and claim the money from the practice. We do neither. If you have a CODEplan without built-in insurance, you can have a supply of our Worldwide Dental Accident and Emergency Insurance brochures in your practice and offer them to your patients. Because you are not registered with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) your staff cannot tell patients details of the scheme. If a patient has questions they can contact CODE for the answers. It is an FSA requirement that patients are given a Key Facts leaflet with the brochure and you may want to have some copies of the full insurance policy available - although this will be sent to the patient when they apply for the insurance cover. The patient completes the application form and confirms the additional direct debit payment (we already have their bank details because you have a CODEplan) before sending it to CODE. The insurance cover costs 97p per month and, unlike some other policies, implants are covered. What could be easier?
